What power is hidden in humility?

Why does the church teach us thatpower in humilityconcluded? The fact is that this is such a virtue, without which it is impossible to do good and to keep the commandments of God. And He told us that "blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." What does this expression mean - “the poor in spirit”?

What power in humility is hidden

As beggars, who do not have material goods in their lives, feel humiliated, so we must feel before God as imperfect, in need of His patronage.

Some do not consider humility to be a virtue; it seems to them that this is a shameful quality that instils the believers in the Church to humiliate dignity, develop servility and suppress initiative. This opinion is wrong. It comes from spiritual ignorance.

To understand that power is in our humility before God, read the Gospel. Showing meekness, many received healing of the soul and body for themselves and their loved ones.

This is evident from the biblical stories. Approaching Christ with these words: “Just say and be healed,” many received their desires, and the Lord set as an example the great power of humility and faith of these people.

How to understand that we really have reached the state of humility in our soul? If you have recognized the omnipotence of God and experienced your insufficiency, your spiritual path lies in the right direction.

One day the Lord called us to be perfect, like a heavenly Father. From this moment begins the path of improvement of our soul.

Here is the power of humility - the constant awareness of their incompleteness and the desire to become better and be like the Creator. Proud people are blind - they do not feel their imperfections.

What awaits those who decide to devote their lives to the spiritual ideal and fight against the manifestation of pride in themselves? A humble person is afraid to violate the commandments of God, high divine revelations are revealed to him, such a person is aware of his strength, does not carry excessive burdens, he prevents discord around himself and multiplies the world, he is quiet and modest, pleasant to talk to, gentle, compassionate, compliant, respectful, sensitive , generous, has a desire to become better ...

Christian faith says thatpower in humilityand it should become the natural healthy state of Orthodox people. It is “precious poverty”which is able to fill us with spiritual gifts and ultimately lead to the door of the kingdom of heaven.

How to defeat the sin of conviction?
The sin of condemnation is very firmly established in the usual "ethics" of human relationships. However, how disastrous can it be for each of us? Do I have to fight him? What are its main causes? How can this passion win in yourself? What did spiritually experienced people advise in this case?
"Remember the last is yours," or What is mortal memory?
There are things that are unpleasant to think about, but very necessary. Why is mortal memory considered one of the most important Christian virtues? Why is it necessary? How can I get it? How do believers properly treat death? Where does the fear of it come from?
The virtue of humility as the basis of holiness
Where does the Orthodox faith begin? By accepting that Christ came, suffered and was resurrected, or - with the awareness of his sinfulness? Orthodoxy says - from the second: in it is the virtue of humility.
How to get the salvation of the soul of the Orthodox Christian
Our life passes very quickly, and soul salvation is not something that can be postponed indefinitely. We are guests on this earth, sooner or later there will come a time when you have to stand before God and give an answer about what you have done in mortality.

Spiritual humility in christianity
To understand what spiritual poverty is and why the Gospel says that those who have a poor spirit are happy, you need to understand what these words mean. Spiritual poverty is humility. It is said that all the saints, whom the Church only knows, were humble. Spiritual humility is the short way to soul salvation.
The path of humility - what steps is it achieved?
The Holy Fathers of the Orthodox Church indicated to us the path of humility - the order by which one can come to this, without exaggeration, basic virtue. Humility in varying degrees is present from the outset, but only in part. How do holiness teachers teach this salvation path?
Humility of the heart as a sign of humility
Humility, like other virtues, has different degrees. And the highest of them is called meekness. This state is more a gift from God than the result of working on yourself. How can anyone achieve it - to acquire such a property of the soul as the humility of the heart? What depends on our efforts?
First stages of humility
Humility is a virtue that elevates the spirit and brings our mind closer to God. This quality can be opposed to pride. It seems to such a person that he has achieved everything that he has good in life. At the first stage of humility, a person begins to understand who actually gives him good in this life.
How is the grace of the Holy Spirit given to us
Grace is the immaterial energy through which God is manifested to man. In order to vividly and clearly tell how the grace of the Holy Spirit is given to us, let us give an example of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The Lord appeared in shining robes, and this whiteness emphasized the light emanating from the kingdom of heaven.
Why is humility in Orthodoxy the most virtuous world rejected?
What manifestation of holiness is Christianity reproached for? The religious world agrees with many properties of holiness, but rejects it. Humility in Orthodoxy is a modest opinion of oneself, lack of hope for oneself, for one’s efforts, knowledge, and opportunities. Why is the world fighting against humility?
Christian humility is necessary for our salvation
To show Christian humility means not to be indifferent to evil, but to fight with your passions, first of all, with pride. By following this saving path, we can acquire the saving grace of the Holy Spirit.
What does humility of the soul give to holiness?
What is the most important virtue for spiritual growth, for holiness? Christ teaches us with words and life that this is the humility of the soul, sometimes mistakenly called modesty. And if modesty happens to sin — ostentatious, mixed with narcissism, then humility is truly the first of virtues.
