Medicinal product "Lazolvan" (syrup forchildren) is a member of the mucolytics group. In addition to this form, the drug is issued in the form of capsules and tablets prolonged (prolonged) action, a solution for oral administration. Also produced "Lazolvan" for inhalations for children.

The drug has secretolitic,expectorant and secretory effect, stimulates the serous cells of the glands of the bronchial mucosa, increases the secretion and production of the surfactant (surfactant) in the bronchi and alveoli, stabilizes the impaired ratio of mucous and serous sputum components. "Lazolvan" (syrup for children, pills, capsules, etc.) is able to increase the motor activity of the ciliated epithelium, to increase mucociliary transport. Medication by activating hydrolyzing enzymes and enhancing liberation from Clark cells by lysosomes reduces the viscosity of sputum.

"Lazolvan" (syrup for children and other forms of the drug for internal use) begins to act after half an hour and remains active for six to twelve hours.

Medication is indicated for respiratory diseasespathways accompanied by the formation of viscous sputum (bronchitis of chronic and acute form, pneumonia, bronchial asthma with difficulty in sputum discharge, COPD, bronchiectasis). In addition, Lazolvan is prescribed for the stimulation of prenatal (fetal) maturation of the lungs, the prevention and treatment of distress syndrome (respiratory) in newborns and premature infants (with premature (artificial) delivery shown between the twenty-eighth and thirty-fourth weeks of gestation and the threat of premature birth if the clinical manifestations suggest an extension of the period of three days).

Contraindications to prescription of the drugare: phenylketonuria (for forms containing aspartame), hypersensitivity, pregnancy in the first trimester. With caution, the drug is used for liver failure.

As a negative manifestation after takingmeans "Lazolvan" (syrup for children, tablets and other medicinal forms) may allergic reactions in the form of urticaria, skin rash, angioedema. In some cases, anaphylactic shock, allergic dermatitis may develop. Rare side effects are headaches, weakness, exanthema, dryness in the airways and mouth, dysuria, and constipation.

With prolonged use of the drug inhigh dosage may cause vomiting, gastralgia. Overdose is characterized by the following manifestations: nausea, dyspepsia, diarrhea. As a treatment, gastric lavage is used within the first hour or two after taking the medication, using fat-containing products.

Instructions

"Lazolvan" (syrup child) patients from five toTwelve years are prescribed for fifteen milligrams two or three times during the day, from two to five years - 7.5 milligrams three times a day, patients under the age of two years - twice a day for 7.5 milligrams.

The drug is not recommended in combination with antitussive medicines, which can make it difficult to excrete sputum.

Solution for inhalation allowed to usewith any modern device, except for steam inhalers. Patients with bronchial asthma, in order to prevent nonspecific irritations and spasms in the airway, are recommended to take bronchodilators before carrying out this procedure.

It is allowed to use the syrup in patients with diabetes mellitus.
