His father is a true hero.
The son asked the father: "Dad, will you take part in the marathon with me?" Father, despite heart problems, answered: "Yes." And they passed the whole marathon together. After they often participated in other marathons, the father always answered his son's consent when he asked to go along the course. One day a son asked his father: "Dad, can we take part in the Ironman?". And the father replied: "Yes," - as always ... For those who do not know, Ironman (eng. "Iron Man") is the hardest triathlon in the world. The route is divided into 3 parts: first you need to run about 42 km along the coast, then 3.86 km by swimming across the ocean and, finally, 180.2 km by bike. Father and son completed this race together. Later, in a television interview with his father, Dick Hoyt, said that when Rick was still in the womb, the umbilical cord curled around his neck, cutting off the access of oxygen to the brain. And when Rick, the doctor who took care of him, was born, he told Dick and his wife that their son could never walk or talk and it would be better if they left him. But the father could not do it, but instead he brought home in his arms and has since treated him like any normal child. Then one day the boy saw a marathon on TV and asked his father for the first time to take part in the same ... In one of the interviews, Dick was called a hero, he just replied: "I just love my family." Over the past 15 years, they have gone through 212 triathlon and 4 times the 15-hour Ironman ... And finally, one very important nuance. My father still had a heart attack, and doctors say that he would have died 15 years ago if he had not been so active.
