Catherine Deneuve supported the right of men to "pester" women
Catherine Deneuve became one of a hundred French women who opposed attacks on men after a scandal with Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. They wrote an open letter published in the newspaper Le Monde.
The French women saw in the movement against harassment signs of puritanism and recognized the right of men to “harassing” women, which is an integral part of sexual freedom.
The letter says that the protest of women against violence has become a “witch hunt”.And women who do not support attacks on men are accused of embezzling criminals, complicity and betrayal. The French women said that the campaign launched by Hollywood actresses turned into a method of public accusation and in no way helps to increase the independence of women, but only serves the interests of the enemies of sexual freedom.
